We wanted to bring you up to date on the future of the Walk with Joe. To say that 2020 presented challenges is an understatement, but in spite of those challenges, the Walk with Joe moved on as best it could. We did not have our annual golf outing in April and the walk event became a virtual walk in September. Your generosity in 2020 still allowed us to help our charities although not as strong as prior years. Still, we are proud of our efforts and extremely thankful of your support this past year and years prior.

So now, the question is where do we go from here? Well, the annual Walk with Joe Memorial Golf Outing will live on. We hope to have the annual golf outing at the Pine Barrens Golf Club. As for the walk, a formal walk will not be held in 2021 and for the near future. Instead, we suggest you remember Joe Driscoll, Chris Gray, Tom McCann, and the others we lost on that tragic day by attending a local 9-11 memorial, such as the local event at the 9-11 memorial here in Manalapan, or by going to NYC, Shanksville, or the Pentagon. We will be together in spirit as time goes on.

In closing, we sincerely thank you for your support over the years. What started in 2001 made it 19 strong years as a walk and will live on in our hearts and minds. If you would like to continue to support the walk, our web site, www.walkwithjoe.com, will remain active for donations. If you would like to sponsor a hole or tee at the golf outing, we will have information on our web site also. We will also try to keep you informed of any news from any events. And who knows, maybe somewhere down the road we will have a new walk event that you could attend. Time will tell but for now, let us say Job Well Done!! Remember, We Will Never Forget! God bless you all and God bless the United States of America.

Sincerely,

The Walk with Joe Committee

The Walk honors Patrick "Joe" Driscoll, a hero aboard Flight 93 along with the other passengers and crew, Chris Gray who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald, and Tom McCann who lost his life responding to the scene while working for the NYC Fire Department. To honor all their memory and give comfort to all who lost someone on that tragic day, we will continue to remember their sacrifice through our annual golf outing. If you still want to support the golf outing and the walk, you may do so at our web site. Thank you.

Over $400,000 has been donated. All of the proceeds from the walk, including monies raised from participants and sponsors are donated to numerous charities. Organizations which have benefited include: The Samaritan Center food bank, The Freehold Open Door food bank, The Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center, The Brennan Stands Alone Organization, American Recreational Military Services (ARMS), Monmouth Battlefield State Park, the RJM Foundation (a special needs youth organization), The Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville PA, The Monmouth County Mount Mitchell Memorial Park, The University of West Virginia Christopher Gray Memorial Scholarship Fund, youth athletic programs, and numerous non-profit organizations serving the area with humanitarian aid and programs.

Memorial Scholarships through the Freehold Regional High School District have been established to honor the memories of Chris Gray and Tom McCann.
